LED stands for Light Emitting Diodes, and these tiny little lamps are popping up in all sorts of applications from televisions to traffic signals. One application we are excited to introduce to our patients is in skin care – certain wavelengths of LED’s have been shown to penetrate into skin to promote wound healing and human tissue growth. We can use LED’s to help treat many skin conditions including:
- acne
- photodamage (sun damage)
- non-melanoma skin cancers
- skin rejuvenation (treat fine lines and wrinkles)
- pigmentation or discoloration
- vitiligo
- wound healing from burn or surgery
- pain in muscles and joints
Omnilux Light Therapy was developed through an understanding of how light works with our skin cells. LED Therapy stimulates natural processes to repair the skin, and depending on the skin issues you may be experiencing we can use a combination of different lights to be able to:
- stimulate cells that help to counteract the effects of aging
- destroy bacteria responsible for acne
- reduce inflammation
- stimulate cell growth
- decrease pore size
- limit oil production
LED Therapy with Omnilux is safe and effective. When following the prescribed protocol, studies have shown 36% reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, and up to 81% clearance in mild to moderate acne.
Talk to your aesthetician about adding LED therapy into your treatment plan, and see the difference a little good light can do for you!
Tomato/Basil Salad
One of the many pleasures of summer …. home grown tomatoes. This recipe uses only the freshest vegetables/fruits. The tomato is not technically a vegetable but the fruit of Lycopersicon. Tomatoes are very high in antioxidants. Vitamins A,C, and E … highest in Vitamin A. Lycopene ( which gives the fruit it’s red color) seems to reduce the probabilities of many cancers. The tomato (juice) has a high water content making it ideal for the treatment of lost fluids and minerals caused by excessive heat.
5 Large Tomatoes (wedged)
1/2 cup Freshly Chopped Basil
1/2 Medium Sweet Onion (sliced thin)
1 Tbs. Freshly Minced Garlic
Salt & Pepper .. to taste
Parmigiano Reggiano or Any Hard Cheese … personal preference
1/2 c. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Balsamic Vinegar .. to taste
Combine Olive Oil and Vinegar. In another bowl add your tomatoes, basil, onion and garlic. Pour the oil and vinegar mixture over the tomatoes. Top with shaved cheese … S&P. ENJOY !

Cold Stone Therapy for Migraine Headaches and Sinus Congestion
Marsha Brickner LMT would like to introduce a therapy she enjoys providing at evolv.
The treatment begins with drawing the blood from the upper body to the lower extremities with warm wraps. Myofacial release is applied to the forehead and skull. I use pressure point techniques to the sinus areas to help drain fluid from swollen sinuses. Specially crafted cool stones are placed on the face, temple and occiput. Essential oils are used on the face and neck. I complete the session with lymphatic drainage. If time allows I encourage clients to stay in the dark and silent massage room to make the most of this extremely relaxing and refreshing therapy. Cold Stone Therapy Massage can be either a 30 or 60 minute session. I always talk through your health history as well as your particular needs and expectations.
Experience what Marsha’s compassionate touch can do for your body, mind, and spirit. evolv medical aesthetics therapies are designed to provide the ultimate in relaxation, setting the stage for your body to detoxify and repair itself-the natural way.

Greek Chicken Salad, a summer favorite!!

Brighten the Face!
Enhance your Eyes!
Love your Lashes!!
Summer is in full swing and having eyelash extensions is a great way to enhance the eyes! Great for an everyday or for a special event. Morgan Seipel loves them for an everyday look because it allows the face to appear more alert and alive.
This month Morgan is offering Eyelash Extensions for $150. Normally $225. Get the eyelashes you’ve always wanted customized right down to the length and amount of curl.
Morgan is a Licensed Aesthetician and Make-up Artist that has been working at evolv since March 2008. She graduated from F.A.C.E.S. in Fremont, Ohio in 2005. Morgan wanted to do something in skin care since seeing both her brothers struggle with acne while they were growing up. She has even dabbled in homemade egg white and lemon juice masks – they must have worked because Morgan has the most beautiful skin! Aesthetics has proven to be a great career choice. Morgan loves working with people and feels most rewarded when her patients are happy with their results.
Education is extremely important to an aesthetician at evolv, and Morgan is no exception. She enjoys attending conferences and learning about new advances in skin care science. An exciting experience for Morgan was sitting on the advisory board meeting for SkinMedica in 2009. Other training experience she’s had include conferences by Obagi, Physician’s Choice of Arizona, La Roche-Posay, and Young Pharmaceuticals. She is a member of the Society for Plastic Surgical Skin Care Specialists (SPSSCS), and has additional training in applying eyelash extensions.
